Abstract

Introduction: Bezoars are accumulations of non-digestible material inside the stomach. Tricobezoars are made up of hair and occur most often in young women who swallow their own hair.

Objective: Describe a clinical case of tricobezoar..

Material and methods: A descriptive, retrospective, clinical case presentation study on tricobezoar was conducted.

ResultsA clinical case of tricobezoar surgical treatment is described in 18-year-old patient with no personal history and a family history of gastric cancer.

Conclusions: Tricobezoar is a rare pathology; diagnosis is confirmed with gastroduodenal endoscopy, radiological examination in particular with tomography is essential to highlight the locations of the foreign body. Treatment is surgicaland follow-up by psychiatry.
