Materials and methods: A systematic review of the literature focused on the last five years located in different databases such as; Elsevier, Google academic, Pubmed, Scielo, Scopus, ScienceDirect, same as the English and Spanish languages were specified, where a prism method was carried out for the selection of the bibliography. Results: 54 studies were obtained, of which 17 were discarded for being duplicates, they were also filtered by title and abstract, eliminating 13 investigations, in addition 10 bibliographies were eliminated through a filter by year, 14 studies were analyzed excluding 6 for the benefits of the topic, Finally, 8 studies were selected in the systematic review. Conclusions: The risk factors are multiple, such as; advanced age, obesity, being sedentary, being female, smoking, alcoholism, so recognizing that they are modifiable allows preventing knee osteoarthritis, and it is concluded that conducting research with a larger sample will allow for the implementation of more specialized strategies.
